Casual Chefs & Kitchen Hands

We are now looking for experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our dynamic kitchen team on a casual basis. Multiple roles are available.

The National Wine Centre of Australia (NWC) is a tourism and hospitality venue showcasing wine-making and its industry to local, interstate and international visitors to South Australia. It is a function venue of choice which caters for events of 10 guests up to 1000 in flexible and unique settings. Additionally, the venue operates caf├ęs across two sites. Ideally located on the city edge and nestled in the corner of the spectacular Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the NWC has become a beloved landmark and meeting point for food and wine lovers worldwide.

Our winning edge is our amazing team and the products & services they deliver. We are now looking for experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our dynamic kitchen team on a casual basis. Multiple roles available:

Chefs (Casual)

The successful candidates must have the following skills, experience & availability:

  • Formal qualifications in Commercial Cookery;
  • Substantial experience working in a similar role either in a hotel or busy conference and events environment;
  • Demonstrated understanding of food costs and inventory control;
  • An excellent understanding of food, hygiene and WHS practices;
  • Availability to work over a 7 day rotating roster including a mixture of days and nights;
  • Exceptional communication & team work skills.

Kitchen Hands (Casual)

The opportunity exists to support and be a part of the dynamic kitchen team and experience the operation of a leading event and function venue. The successful candidate will be required to organise and perform various cleaning duties before, during & after functions and maintain the cleanliness of general kitchen areas. At times basic food preparation may be required under the supervision of senior team members.

This role is ideally suited to a team player who is prepared to take direction and work in a very busy environment. Initiative and a commitment to following safe work practices is essential.

To be considered for this position you must be available over a 7-day roster including a mixture of days and nights. Previous experience in a hotel or busy restaurant kitchen will be highly regarded.
