An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, enthusiastic hospitality professional to join this award-winning venue.

The National Wine Centre of Australia (NWC) is one of Adelaide’s leading hospitality venues situated in the vibrant East End of the CBD, in close proximity to the emerging Lot Fourteen precinct, which will include Tarrkarri – Centre for First Nations Cultures in the future.

Our unique architectural building is surrounded by the green space of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and parklands, and plays host to over 800 events per year attracting international, national and local visitors. Events include conferences, weddings, banquets, meetings and seminars.

The NWC is a showcase and focal point for Australia’s wine industry and as such, it has become a beloved landmark for food and wine lovers across the country who have engaged in the range of wine tourism and event experiences on offer.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, enthusiastic hospitality professional to join this award-winning venue.

Under the general direction of the Conference and Events Manager, the candidate will plan, manage and coordinate the operation of Conference and Events Service, maintaining the National Wine Centre’s exceptional service standards and achieving maximum guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide strong leadership to motivate and engage the Conference and Events team to deliver five-star service.
  • Direct the opening and closing of the centre and roster accordingly.
  • Review C&E event orders in advance and ensure appropriate levels of staff are rostered to maximise the level of business.
  • Liaise with the Kitchen and Sales teams to ensure client expectations are exceeded whilst managing staff, labour costs and training.
  • Assist with rostering when required to ensure payroll is kept in line with budget requirements;
  • Assist in monitoring the food and beverage COGS, controlling costs, profit and loss expenses and wages through effective staffing levels.

Applicants will display initiative, be highly self-motivated and possess exceptional leadership and communication skills. A strong understanding of Food and Beverage Operations is essential.
